What’s the Secret?
We are all perfect…it’s our environment that needs to change
here’s how YOU can change it…
EATING
Take a moment before eating to take some deep breaths and offer gratitude
Eat REAL, nutrient-dense, whole food as close to nature as possible
If man made it don’t eat it
Focus on quality grass-fed meat, wild-caught fish, free-range fowl, pastured eggs
local, organic veggies and fruit, a few tubers & properly prepared nuts & seeds
You aren’t just what you eat…you are what you eat EATS
Shop at local farmer’s markets and get the best food with the most nutrients
Be a part of the food movement and be a catalyst to change
Consume plenty of good fats: quality animal fats, coconut oil, palm oil, butter, olive oil, and avocados
Look for cold-pressed, unrefined and extra-virgin oils
Incorporate fermented foods, organ meats, and bone broths in your diet and consume them daily                                                                                                                                           Eliminate toxic foods
Avoid packaged, canned, and processed foods, fast food, vegetable oils, sugar, modern grains, conventional dairy, artificial sweeteners, and sodas
Chew your food slowly and chew until its soup
Drink plenty of clean, filtered water
Always pay attention to how food is making you feel and perform
Find what macronutrient (protein, carbs, fats) ratio works best for you
Get back in the kitchen, turn off the TV, turn on the music, sit at the dinner table and celebrate community
MOVING
Let go of any unnecessary tension that you may be holding onto
Stand erect with relaxed shoulders and be centered through your feet
Breathe through your belly as opposed to your chest
Find a flow, rhythm and balance with even the slightest movements
Check in with your body often and listen to what it’s telling you
Exercise at moderate to high intensity levels using powerful functional movements
Lift heavy with focus on good technique and do lots of sprints with interval-type training
Find movements and exercise programming that work well for you and your goals
Avoid chronic poor postures with flexed spines, forward heads and slumped shoulders
Do stretches and strengthening exercises that facilitate an upright spine
Find an activity/sport you love and do it often
Take long walks in nature and create space for yourself
Do yoga and reconnect with your breath and inner body
THINKING
Become the awareness of your thoughts
Who you are is not the thinker
Understand that thoughts create emotions and emotions create reality
Know that thoughts are a form of energy that effects you and everything around you
Get familiar with how your ego operates and practice not identifying with it
See past the ego in others and learn to not react to it
Learn to forgive and not judge, if you do judge then forgive yourself for judging
Avoid labeling events or circumstances as “good” or “bad”
There are no problems, only situations
Accept the present moment as it is
Notice when you become resentful of the past or anxious about the future
When you notice this…calmly go back to the present
You are not less than or more than anyone
Realize that 95% of your thoughts are inherited from other people, your upbringing and surrounding culture
Your wishes and desires make up the other 5%
With practiced awareness you have a choice in the thoughts you think
You are the creator of your own reality
You are the captain of your own ship
LIVING
Live a life of simplicity
Slow down and embrace the present moment
Make a list of what you want in life and look at it first thing in the morning
Have a vision
Spend at least 10 minutes in absolute silence everyday
Get some sun, but don’t get burned
Sleep at least 8-10 hours a night in a pitch black room
Detoxify your environment
Eliminate harmful chemicals from your food, personal-care products, cleaners, etc.
Cultivate pleasure daily and do more of what makes you happy
Take time to master your mind, care for your body and nourish your soul
Practice gratitude daily
Adopt a positive paradigm and surround yourself with good energy
Be compassionate and love others well
Recognize that the things you’re most afraid of doing are often the things you most need to do                                                                                                                                                   Use your gifts and passions to find your purpose
Serve others
Dedicate yourself to a cause greater than yourself
The world does not belong to us, we belong to the world
Be authentic…come original
Follow your heart and intuition
It is the truth
